POSITION SUMMARY:

The User Experience Intern will be working with our internal teams to take our omni-channel user experience program to the next level. We don't want to simply keep pace with the competition; we want to blow them out of the water. Our goal is simple; provide our users with extremely useful, engaging and simple experiences that will not only redefine retail omni-channel user experience, but user experience as we know it. We will do this through a relentless focus on our users by whatever means necessary and a passion for meeting their needs on any device, at any time, whenever they choose, wherever they choose. We will deliver the right content and the right experience and most importantly - in the right context. This mission, if you choose to accept it, will take you on a journey with one of the biggest and brightest specialty apparel retailers. The stage is set. The organization is behind us. All we need now are your user experience skills and passion to help us make it happen.

INTERNSHIP DETAILS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

•The internship will be 10 weeks from June 2019 through August 2019

•Each intern will be considered seasonal/temporary in nature

•Each Intern will be assigned a Coach & Mentor to guide through his/her experience

•Each Intern will be assigned a project which will be presented to AEO Management at the conclusion of the Internship

•Use your UX passion, knowledge and creativity (and our access to users through social, on-site, in-stores, etc.) to determine the right user research activities based on project needs/requirements

•Help to create and give input for the omni-channel UX design for designated projects, work streams and across all touch points (mobile, tablet, web, in-store, etc.)

•Understand user-centered design best practices, principles and approaches

•Ability to articulate and share your experience design decision making process to business partners

•Constantly scan the UX horizon for innovative experiences that continue to push the envelope and blur the lines between in-store and digital shopping experiences

TRAINING OVERVIEW:

•Opportunities to learn about different areas of the Technology business

•Roundtables with top level executives

•Bi Weekly self-evaluations to understand progress throughout program

•Pre-planned events around Pittsburgh to get to know the city that AEO loves to call home!

QUALIFICATIONS:

•Students are eligible after they have completed their junior year at a 4 year college or university; Students enrolled in a Master’s program are also eligible

•Preferred majors include: Design, Marketing, Human-Computer Interaction and Business

•Minimum 3.0 GPA required

•Passion for retail and knowledge of the AEO Inc. family of brands

•Experience in omni-channel eCommerce is a plus

•Skills with design and prototyping preferred

•Strong business acumen through classes, internships or prior work experience

•Strong organizational, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills

•Strong verbal and written communication skills

•Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team

•Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment

•Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

•Must accommodate living and working in Pittsburgh, PA for 10 weeks June-August 2019
