The Technology Innovation Internship allows students to work alongside our Innovation team to create value for our customers by defining and piloting new and innovative solutions. These capabilities will optimize the customer journey in order to further American Eagle’s position as a leader in fashion and retail. The Technology Innovation Intern will assist in developing high-impact programs that enhance the customer journey both in-store and through the digital shopping experience.


•The internship will be 10 weeks from June 2019 through August 2019

•Each intern will be considered seasonal/temporary in nature

•Each Intern will be assigned a Coach & Mentor to guide through his/her experience

•Each Intern will be assigned a project which will be presented to AEO Management at the conclusion of the Internship

•Coordinate innovation projects that positively impact the customer shopping experience

•Support the development and testing of new capabilities


•Opportunities to learn about different areas of the Technology business

•On-the-Job training with assignments guided by an individual Mentor

•Classroom learning 

•Individual and group projects

•Roundtables with top level executives

•Bi Weekly self-evaluations to understand progress throughout program

•Pre-planned events around Pittsburgh to get to know the city that AEO loves to call home!


•Students are eligible after they have completed their junior year at a 4 year college or university; First year Master’s students are also eligible

•Preferred majors include a Technology related degree – Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Innovation, etc.

•Interest or previous experience working with innovative technology solutions

•Minimum 3.0 GPA required

•Strong organizational, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills

•Strong verbal and written communication skills

•Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team

•Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment

•Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting

•High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, specifically Excel

•Must accommodate living and working in Pittsburgh, PA for 10 weeks June-August 2019
