POSITION TITLE: Store Loss Prevention Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Loss Prevention Manager/Sr. Manager – Loss Prevention
SUPERVISES: Loss Prevention Associates and Contract Security personnel
 
PURPOSE:
  • Responsible for the physical security, Loss Prevention and Safety in a large format store
  • Supervises AE security associates, contract security associates, and monitors security systems in a large format multiple brand environment
  • Perform internal audits to measure management’s compliance with AEO, Inc. Loss Prevention policies and procedures.
  • Act in a support role to the store management team by providing security services, training, Health and Safety oversight and investigative services when required.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Enforce company Policies and Procedures
  • Oversee security operations to include security management of multiple selling floors, stockrooms, and other public area of the location
  • Manage the contract guard service to ensure the scheduling and coverage are adequate
  • Train, develop, and supervise AE security associates and contract security staff
  • Promote and maintain a high level of security associate performance, morale and safety awareness; counsel security associates for unacceptable performance/attendance issues
  • Enhance security systems and processes by: making recommendations, implementing directives and executing changes
  • Communicate all security issues to Loss Prevention Department leadership
  • Monitor security system alarms and resolve related issues; communicate legitimate alarms to appropriate entities
  • Anticipate potential LP/safety/security related problems and assist in development of response plans
  • Participate in threat assessments and develop action plans to reduce vulnerability and impact the potential of security breaches
  • Participate in the maintenance of the location’s Crisis Management Plan and Business Impact Analysis
  • Liaison with local authorities and emergency management agencies
  • Perform internal store audits to include selected store physical inventories
  • Perform internal and external theft investigations
  • Train store management and associates in Loss Prevention policy and procedures
  • Conduct Loss Prevention seminars, workshops and impromptu training classes
  • Monitor POS exception reports and follow up significant exceptions
  • Other duties as assigned
AUTHORITY:
  • Location based LP supervisory position responsible for all aspects of physical security, LP training, safety, and investigation
  • Performance management of contract security personnel
  • Prepare and present associate and supervisor performance reviews
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum two years store management experience
  • Bachelors degree in Business Management, Criminal Justice or security related field preferred
  • Above average computer skills, technical training a plus, but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with excellent organizational skills; ability to follow through to completion with minimal supervision
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments in a multi-level environment
  • Good problem solving ability and a high sense of urgency

  • Actual starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to relevant experience and location.
