POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for federal, state, and local corporate income tax compliance and related audit support, monitoring tax changes, preparing tax accounting (including FIN 48) workpapers, and assisting with other tax areas and projects as assigned.  


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with the preparation of applicable federal, state, and local corporate income tax returns including state apportionment, state modification workpapers, and other required disclosures.
  • Assist with federal, state and local income tax audits.
  • Perform quarterly fixed asset review and depreciation calculations
  • Research tax issues for areas of responsibility.
  • Monitor state and local tax law changes and analyze impact on tax returns and tax provision.
  • Assist with corporate tax provision calculations and disclosures
  • Coordinate communications to various agencies regarding tax inquiries/tax notices.
  • Assist in updating tax technology workpapers, procedures, and documentation to improve the efficiency of the department.
  • Maintain the tax reporting tool, including updates for new entities and new accounts.
  • Prepare monthly tax provision and review other cost allocations for accuracy and prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.
  • Calculate federal and state quarterly estimated payments and coordinate payment to taxing authorities.  
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of corporate income tax experience.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Prior corporate income tax compliance and provision experience is required.
  • Strong research skills.
  • Experience with OneSource Income Tax/Go System Tax RS and OneSource Tax Provision
  • High degree of proficiency with standard Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Windows.
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
