As a Sr. Analyst of Supply Chain Analytics at AEO, Inc., you will be responsible for the evaluation of data, data patterns and trends that will be leveraged for Continuous Improvement (CI) projects and initiatives across AEO’s Supply Chain/Logistics and Distribution network. You will be a critical member of the team as you will capture, store and process data analytics while assisting with organizing, understanding and communicating key insights. Your efforts will aid in the overall architecture of CI projects and deliverables as well as curate a narrative for on-going supply chain performance.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Playing an active role in developing analytical solutions within and across the Supply Chain/Logistics and distribution network; working closely with the Director of Supply Chain Technology and Sr. Manager of Continuous Improvement to execute CI projects and initiatives
  • Designing, prototyping, testing and implementing a wide range of analytical solutions; collaborating with the Supply Chain Technology team to ensure timely delivery
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to support current and future analysis; helping to maintain and enhance existing models where needed
  • Researching and applying the latest quantitative methods and techniques towards the solution of important business challenges and opportunities; exercising intellectual curiosity to identify new modeling technologies/methodologies/software platforms to improve current modeling processes/capabilities 
  • Processing, cleansing, and verifying information used for analysis to ensure data integrity
  • Performing data mining and ad-hoc analysis to present findings and results in a clear, digestible manner
  • Interpreting and communicating ideas and / or theories into solutions that will improve the AEO’s supply chain
  • Identifying new and unique data sources and exploring their potential use in the development of actionable business insights / actions
  • Ensuring thorough technical governance of data including identifying data issues, model computational problems and provide best-in-class solutions
  • Analyzing business needs and developing detailed requirements for systems development including preparing functional design specifications
  • Identifying report specifications, perform end-user acceptance testing, and maintain ongoing reporting integrity
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with all business customers, colleagues, vendors/partners and consultants.
  • Supporting initiatives that ensure the supply chain operates with industry best practices in the areas of Innovation, Efficiency, Customer Service/Service Level, Inventory Management and Quality.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of the systems and business processes that currently support the supply chain network; translating analysis outcomes into business suggestions to help prepare for the future of supply chain. 
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Math, Physics, or another related field; PhD preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a Data Analytics, preferably within the supply chain/logistics and distribution fields 
  • Understanding of retail/e-commerce; understanding of supply chain analytics inclusive of sourcing, transportation, fulfillment, etc.
  • Experience building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures and data sets
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes; ability to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Demonstrated ability to build processes that support data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management
  • Experience working with project managers and engineers; experience applying analytics in a real-world setting; strong interpersonal skill and ability to work with cross-functional teams
  • Experience articulating business questions and using mathematical techniques to arrive at an answer using available data
  • Works well independently, taking responsibility for tasks, deliverables, and deadlines; ability to multi task and shift priorities quickly and efficiently as required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and collaborates well within a team oriented environment; consistently seeks to improve process procedures
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all levels of personnel, management and vendors
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, organizational, problem solving skills; detail orientated with a focus on data accuracy
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications and various analysis tools; must be highly organized, efficient with systems/data, with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of supply chain execution systems including WMS, COFE, Qlikview, Tablaue, Tradestone, PKMS, Descart, etc.
  • Experience with common data science toolkits, machine learning techniques and algorithms.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, databases and proficiency in using query languages such a Sequel.
  • Strong applied statistics skills, such as distributions, statistical testing, regression analysis, etc.
  • Strong scripting and programming skills preferred
