We are a trendy e-commerce retailer that’s not just busy selling stretchy jeans and t-shirts. We are striving to push the boundaries of technology and innovation in ecommerce while making American Eagle the smoothest place to shop on the Internet. Specifically in UI Engineering, we are cultivating a devoted team that works with the Ember.js ecosystem. In addition, we’re maturing daily with continuous integration, continuous delivery, and we’re modernizing our e-commerce platform with cloud native development and microservices.

You are an engineer who is resourceful, creative, and dedicated to building seriously cool and ambitious applications. You’re up for a challenge and are never satisfied with the status quo. You sweat the details and ensure the job is done the right way, not the easy way. You’re comfortable being team captain or second string. • Create, document, and communicate technical designs based on architectural recommendations
  • Assist / lead issue resolution with production support
  • Identify project risks and communicate proper mitigation plans with project managers

YOU’VE GOT WHAT WE NEED (the must haves.)

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Technology or related field; 5+ years relevant experience
  • 3+ years’ experience in agile development
  • Extensive experience implementing UI with an MVC architectural pattern
  • 2+ years’ experience with a single page application framework, such as Ember / React.js / Vue.js / Angular.js (we’re obvious fans of Tomster ;-) )
  • Extensive experience utilizing a RESTful API
  • Source Control Management experience (we Git it ;-) )
  • Experience architecting CSS for large scale responsive applications

GOT THESE, TOO? Sweet. (the nice to haves.)

Extensive Ember ecosystem experience including Ember CLI, Ember Fastboot, Ember Data

Stylus / Less

Jira / Bitbucket

High transactional e-commerce experience

Native app development (iOS /Android)

Enjoy wearing jeans to work every day (not just AE jeans :-) )
