POSITION TITLE: Project Designer
REPORTS TO: Manager, Project Design
SUPERVISES: n/a
 
POSITION SUMMARY:

This individual will be introduced to the responsibilities of managing and administering both Corporate owned and Franchise licensee store projects, by applying knowledge of space planning, construction procedures, building codes and building materials. This individual shall coordinate various brand designs (e.g. AE, aerie, Factory, Franchise, Concession, etc.) with in-house staff and outside consultants for the production, and submittal of construction documents to obtain contractor bids, landlord approval, and a building permit (as required).

 
 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Coordinates layout of store projects adapting current design to specific space configuration, and manages information with in-house staff and/or outside consultants.
  • Communicating between landlord and building department representatives to ensure all requirements are part of the final construction documents.
  • Prepare consultant store data packages for distribution to outside Engineers. Packages consist of all drawings, LL criteria, and field surveys. Clear communication of all building details is critical for success in this function.
  • Revising construction documents as required.
  • Plotting drawing files and raster images as needed.
  • Handling drawing submission to all governing agents.
  • Scanning and copying drawings as needed.
  • Cleaning and organizing flat files and project design files.
  • Archiving digital and hard copy drawing files.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, related field, or equivalent required.
  • 3+ year experience in Store Planning, Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent preferred.
  • General understanding of HVAC, electrical, & plumbing drawings preferred.
  • Fundamental knowledge of latest release of AutoCAD required.
  • Proficiency with standard Microsoft Office products and Microsoft Windows required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to understand & visualize architectural details, follows directions accurately and efficiently, and handles a multi-task, fast paced, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • Demonstrates collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team.
