POSITION TITLE:                  Manager – Offline Business Strategies, Direct & Stores

REPORTS TO:                        Senior Director – aerie & Offline Business Strategies

SUPERVISES:                         Assoc Manager – Offline Business Strategies, Direct & Stores

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for developing and driving the strategic initiatives supporting the Offline brand for both digital and store channels.  Create the Offline Seasonal Brief, own the Omni leaseline document and promotional cadence for the brand.  Drive digital planning inclusive of webset and email plans, the store laydown and floorset process, and brand photo shoots to establish key merchandising trends and strategies.  Responsible for reinforcing key merchandising strategies for all store training while being the brand communication funnel for all Cross-Functional Partners.

       

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create Offline Seasonal Brief inclusive of high-level brand strategies and product details that becomes the cross-functional team bible for execution each season.
  • Own Initial creation of Omni Leaseline Document pre-season.  Ensure document is updated at all times in terms of digital brand product priorities, promotional cadence, and stores marquee support.
  • Collaborate with Aerie Business Strategies Manager to create Leaseline Meeting Cadence and agenda.  Identify discussion topics and have meeting agenda notes distributed to leadership well in advance.
  • Create and manage Brand Trigger Calendar that includes deadlines pertaining to product and/or promotional adjustments, pricing deadlines and catalog/site blackouts.
  • Prepare brand information and POV to support pre-season marketing collaborative meetings
  • Assist in the execution of any in-season changes, collect information based on current business needs, recommend solutions and effectively communicate to cross functional teams
  • Manage high-level floorset late list delivery recap for Offline brand
  • DIGITAL:

PRESEASON:

      • Ensure all needs are captured through the photoshoot process by leveraging the brand Seasonal Brief and Webset Cadence files. 
      • Partner with digital cross-functional team on all preseason planning – webset cadence, weekly email plan, cobranded AE events & touchpoints, leaseline and promotional cadence.

INSEASON:

      • Be the expert on leaseline and promotional activity as it pertains to this year, last year and co-branded support.
      • Be the liaison between Merchandising and Digital Cross-Functional team to troubleshoot wins and opportunities in the business pertaining to digital channel and adjustments to support the business.
  • STORES:

PRESEASON:

      • Floorset Walk-Thrus: 
        • Lead Leadership Walk-Throughs by providing a financial overview and assortment analysis.
        • Leverage Seasonal Brief to ensure key ideas are captured and focal from a merchandising standpoint.
        • Ensure correct marketing is ordered to support key ideas and leaseline promotional plan.
        • Collaborate with Store Operations Team to create a robust seasonal associate training plan to support brand strategies.

INSEASON:

      • Oversee seasonal and in-season floorset adjustments to ensure moves are realistic, focused and address needs based on inventory and business needs.
      • Attend select milestone meetings in NY
      • Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising, Business, or equivalent required
  • Advanced degree (Master’s or MBA) preferred
  • 6+ years prior buying experience from a specialty or department store
  • 2+ years’ experience in a leadership role
  • Aggressive and passionate individual will be most successful in this and future roles
  • Keen sense of fashion exhibited through personal taste
  • Understanding of fashion designer labels and how to interpret their seasonal stories/messages for the AE customer
  • Excellent analytical and creative skills to challenge the planning and design sides of the organization
  • Demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy (coolness and composure under strain, confidence without arrogance)
  • Risk Taker - Carefully considers risk/reward, ready to try new ways of doing things to improve learning
  • Forward Thinking/Innovative – Not satisfied with the status quo, ahead of the times, advanced views, creating something like nothing done or experienced before

  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Travel is required, including the potential for international travel
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • Passion for the Offline brand, message and lifestyle
