POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the overall quality of engineering solutions. Mentor a team of Quality Engineers to define and maintain quality standards, which will be used to assess every product release deployed to the production Retail/ e-commerce platforms.  Responsible for delivering functional testing, regression testing and automation testing of products that are released to desktop and mobile platforms. Define the Quality Engineering roadmap for the organization. Expertise in Retail / Order / Warehouse Management System interface to involve in design and architecture of solutions for new projects.  Partner with the project management, engineering delivery and release management teams to enforce quality standards for the full development life cycle.

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mentor a team of Quality Engineers to ensure functional quality and performance quality of various code releases to the retail platforms
  • Implement quality standards/processes by instituting best in class quality process, defining KPI and quality metrics for reporting and continuous improvement
  • Manage and maintain documentation strategy for testing artifacts and methodology for continuous improvement and audit purposes; monitor, analyze and present testing results
  • Define and implement Quality Engineering strategies for agile/ waterfall development methodology
  • Define alignment of the Quality Engineering team to functional areas of the site and delivery medium, desktop, mobile and other devices, to ensure optimal resource utilization and best time to market for product delivery
  • Partner with project management office to achieve better estimation and forecast of time and resource utilization of Quality Engineering resources; proactively get ahead of the business and product requirements
  • Partner with release management, operations, delivery and customer service to constantly improve testing methodology and balance testing cycles with releases
  • Drive innovation, identify areas for process improvement, and promote new ideas
  • Lead teams in designing and architecting tools and frameworks for automated testing
  • Implement CI/CD process across the systems.
  • Act as technology advocate for implementing Quality Engineering tools and systems to optimize quality
  • Mentor team members to have a career path for personal development while creating a high performance team
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering or equivalent technical qualifications
  • Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s) preferred
  • 6+ years of technical experience in software testing, with management / leadership experience in software quality engineering
  • 4+ years of experience working in retail/e-Commerce software testing/development
  • Expertise in domains like Retail / Order / Warehouse Management System Management System interfaces
  • Experience working in finance reconciliation, DW, HRMS systems
  • Experience working in SDLC and Agile development/testing methodology
  • Experience working with black box and white box testing
  • Experience implementing test automation framework using tools like Selenium/ REST assure (APIs)/ SOAP UI
  • Experience using BDD framework like jbehave, Cucumber
  • Experience in leading team or leading test strategies for delivering large size projects with multiple cross-functional touch points
  • Experience working with release management, configuration management and continuous integration framework and tools like JIRA, WIKI, Jenkins/ Bamboo/ Azur DevOps/ GIT/ STASH, Test management too like HP, qtest
  • Excellent data, analytical and process modeling skills
  • Experience in managing onsite/offshore resource model
  • Strong understanding and experience in SQL and Data Model Architecture
  • Excellent grasp on infrastructure topology for a Retail/ e-Commerce platform (both 4 wall datacenter and cloud hosting like GCP)
  • Working knowledge of Unix (Linux, Solaris) is a plus
  • Experience with testing mobile technologies like iOS
  • Prior managerial/supervisory experience
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and Must be able to develop a test strategy and test plan
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
