Distribution Center Systems Technician

Provide systems, applications and infrastructure support to Supply Chain Solutions used by the four Distribution Centers that execute Retail and Direct to Customer distribution. We are looking for an individual that is interested to start their career in technology and/or passionate about learning and growing within the Supply Chain industry. 


  • Monitor and trouble-shoot key DC Systems’ and material handling applications’ (PKMS, Pick Director, COFE) software/infrastructure solutions on a daily basis, as well as partnering with the internal Maintenance team to take corrective action.
  • Partner with your Supervisor and DC System Team members to provide communication to the DC Operations team to identify and resolve system issues that occur and communicate to the other facilities’ Distribution Systems Team when necessary.  
  • Research and identify areas of improvement within DC processing. Work with supervisor to document and recommend corrective actions to be taken to address those shortcomings.
  • Perform preliminary systems analysis for requests from Operations for application enhancements.
  • Assist with executing system code modification, system configuration, resolving system problems and responding to DC Operations’ requests. 
  • Provide input in the creation of necessary documentation, training material and/or other project support to meet Distribution Center’s training needs in partnership with DC trainers and technical writers. 
  • Support training and testing initiatives necessary for enhancing hardware, software and/or associate knowledge transfer. 
  • Create work queries to provide Operations with system data as needed.
  • Responsible for setting up test data and executing specific test scenarios under the direction of project leads and supervisor.
  • Maintain excellent, positive relationships with our Business Partners, Vendors and within IT.  Business partners include but not limited to the following: DC associates, DC Management, Transportation Department and Supply Chain. 
  • Active communications with outside vendors associated with MHE controls, software systems and hardware.
  • Provide upkeep on peripheral equipment inventory (RFs, printers, scanners) and maintain knowledge of DC needs regarding equipment.  Communicate with hardware vendors regarding repair status and/or new purchasing needs.
  • Track issues through knowledge base tool (Heat) and coordinate issue status/resolution communications with 3rd party partners.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule with the other Desktop Technicians for Emergency support situations that arise after 5PM or over the weekend and Holidays
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
  • 2+ years of operational experience in a warehousing or retail industry setting 
  • Working knowledge of PC-based applications, host applications, databases, warehouse management systems and/or material handling applications such as PKMS, Pick Director or COFE 
  • Strong desire to troubleshoot, identify and resolve technical issues 
  • Ability to travel occasionally for project work or professional development
  • Flexibility to work alternative schedules/shifts during peak times
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Self-motivated to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
