Contract Project Manager - Supply Chain

AEO, Inc. is looking for a skilled project manager to lead a key distribution center automation initiative; specifically, the physical/systematic installation and commissioning of a KNAPP Shuttle system. This role will be physically based in Pittsburgh, PA and requires frequent travel to Hazleton, PA. The duration of the contract is expected to last through January 2021, with the potential of turning into a full time employment opportunity if/where there is interest.

The scope of the contract assignment includes:

  • Partnering with a KNAPP Project Manager to align and maintain the project plan
  • Partnering with AEO teams to define the scope and use of the KNAPP shuttle with agility, velocity and redundancy as pillarsDocumenting and gaining approval on all changes to the system or design with business owners and executive leadership
  • Overseeing the physical and systemic installation of a KNAPP Shuttle along with other accessory installations like fire suppression, electrical, networking, etc.
  • Overseeing the testing and training of the use and maintaining of the KNAPP Shuttle
  • Oversee launch and commissioning of the Shuttle and document and report on actuals and work with teams
  • Oversee post launch and punch list items

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Partnering with Supply Chain/Logistics and Distribution Leadership to deliver results in support of the Company’s annual goals. Specifically managing large scope projects and ensuring they are completed on time, within budget and proactively communicating with cross functional teams and vendors to course correct as needed.
  • Working with cross-functional teams using strong technical and analytical skills to identify, prioritize and lead projects or activities as well as develop baseline financial metrics to document savings of identified projects / initiatives.
  • Mobilizing effective project teams; identifying key stakeholders and resources; communicating effectively across teams and groups; reprioritizing as necessary to address changes in the business and/or shifting needs.
  • Delivering results for projects through your leadership and partnership with cross-functional teams and by working directly with various stakeholders across the Company.
  • Building and maintaining good relationships with all business customers, colleagues, vendors/partners and consultants. Effectively communicating and influencing positive results.
  • Other projects and responsibilities as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics and distribution, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in supply chain/distribution management, extensive experience leading and/or participating in projects pertaining to supply chain/logistics or warehousing/distribution
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications and various analysis tools; must be highly organized, efficient with systems/data, with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of supply chain execution systems including WMS, COFE, Qlikview, Tableau, Tradestone, PKMS, Descart, etc.
  • Experience with Lean Deployment, developing standard processes, writing procedures, mentoring, and training groups of associates
  • PMP Certification; Lean / Six Sigma Training or Certification preferred
  • Strong project management expertise, with an emphasis on communication and building strategic relationships
  • Experience documenting/designing business processes, performing business analysis, and requirements definition
  • Self-starter with a proven ability to handle multiple programs/ projects at once
  • ormal training in change management methodology preferred
