POSITION TITLE:                                  Associate Art Director - Create

REPORTS TO:                                        Senior Art Director (Print)

SUPERVISES:                                         Graphic Designer – Create, Associate Graphic Designer – Create



Based on approved seasonal style guide, you will be responsible for managing/delegating, mentoring and growing graphic designers to create all AE Print assets with consistency and excellence in mind. You will be the expert and key point of contact for Store-specific print projects.



  • First priority to ensure elevated brand projection by driving for aesthetic and technical excellence, consistency and superior production plans/executions.
    • Partnering with Store Experience and Production teams to align on substrates, prototypes and final executions
  • Manage the creation of all seasonal and evergreen print assets including windows, uppers, interior and test signage, myAE Studio, DM, OOH/ads, coupons/handouts and store-specific special projects based on approved style guide and brand assets from
    Concept team.
    • Maintain a tight relationship with the Associate Art Director & Sr Graphic Designer – Concept both to collaborate
      and info share.
    • Partner with Store Experience and VM team to align on store overviews and signage maps
    • Develop/manage all final window and interior iterations, including mainline, Factory and Flagship, BU/Beyond
    • Through partnership with Store Experience team, create all Flagship-specific interior and exterior assets
  • Allocation of image selects for all print expressions (windows, uppers, signage, DM, OOH / ads, etc)
  • Concept and creation of Denim Navigation sign kits through close partnership with VM and Store Experience team
  • Creation and maintenance of all institutional sign kits including but not limited to:
    • Basic, Denim, Factory and Sale/Clearance
    • Real Rewards
  • Internal projects such as Home Office wayfinding, graphics and imagery; HR/AEO projects; and other internal projects as assigned.
  • Research current design and graphic trends in art and design, fashion, retail and marketing. Share inspiration with team.
  • Create and maintain a positive environment for full cross-functional team; key focus on collaboration between team.
  • In partnership with Brand Activation, ensure timelines are realistic and achievable; communicate and help solve road blocks when present
  • Take team on monthly / seasonal store visits in Pitt area to hindsight and document print executions, wins and opportunities. Publish to team.  
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field
  • 8-12 years experience working in a retail or agency environment (or equivalent experience and abilities) with previous management experience
  • Expert level of knowledge in Adobe creative suite (Photoshop, Illustrator & Indesign)
