The Analytics/Data Science Intern will assist our internal teams with analyzing large data sets and developing custom models and algorithms to drive business solutions and operational efficiencies. The Analytics/Data Science intern will help to identify opportunities for optimization, personalization and recommendations in online business operations utilizing web analytics data that will positively impact: sales, cost, conversion, customer acquisition and retention.


  • The internship will be 10 weeks from June 2020 through August 2020
  • Each intern will be considered seasonal/temporary in nature
  • Each Intern will be assigned a Coach & Mentor to guide them through their experience
  • Each Intern will be assigned a project which will be presented to AEO Management at the conclusion of the Internship
  • Work closely with Web Analytics team to analyze and refine key metrics of onsite web behavior to establish baselines and provide performance analysis
  • Monitor data quality and work with technical teams to implement capabilities that improve data collection or address data quality issues
  • Work with internal teams to gather reporting requirements and develop desired reports
  • Perform hands-on analysis of web analytics data and assess performance of tools and campaigns
  • Analyze large-scale data from multiple data sources, distill insights and communicate actionable results

  • Students are eligible after they have completed their junior year at a 4 year college or university; First year Master’s students are also eligible
  • Preferred majors include Business Administration, Statistics, Math, Data Science, or related field
  • Previous experience working with large-scale data sets and providing business recommendations
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required
  • Strong organizational, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, and presentation skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, specifically Excel
  • Must accommodate living and working in Pittsburgh, PA for 10 weeks June-August 2020
