As an Analyst for the Global Transportation Team, you will partner with overseas vendors as well as various internal teams to ensure the timely flow of goods and accurate clearance of shipments for all AEO product. Specifically, you will ensure timely completion of shipping instructions by the team to our third party service providers while utilizing cost efficient services specific to PO level requirements. 


  • Facilitate correspondence between vendors and forwarders to ensure booking procedures are followed; timely delivery of sailing schedules, and requests for information are responded to quickly.
  • Complete global transportation department tasks including shipment planning and special projects as assigned.
  • Partner with third-party providers on daily operations including but not limited to, space allocation, effective routings, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with overseas vendors and external partners to resolve documentation issues related to the clearance of merchandise.
  • Assist with global transportation delays and ensure accurate and timely communication to the business.
  • Manage the daily flow of cargo through AEO’s two International Transload Centers (ITC)
  • Review daily status reports from air freight forwarders to ensure on time performance & facilitate communication between the Global Transportation team and external partners as needed.
  • Ensure all partners are in compliance with timely and accurate bill submission and disputes are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Partner daily with the Domestic Transportation team to ensure a seamless transition operationally by facilitating communication between Domestic, Transload & Global Transportation teams.
  • Participate in the procurement process of global transportation providers. This includes business opportunity analysis, requests-for-proposals, contract negotiation, and ongoing management of vendor relationship.
  • Develop and implement new processes/enhancements to facilitate greater efficiencies within the department. 
  • Ensuring internal global partners are managing vendor referrals to ensure timely customs clearance.
  • Assist leadership in determining our network capacity needs both immediate and longer term.
  • Drive vendor and third party service provider performance through the development and use of key metrics, using available systems and tools.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics, or related field
  • 1-3 years’ experience in supply chain operations and / or working with third party logistics providers
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Self-motivated and driven; ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Highly organized and efficient with strong attention to detail
  • Customs and vendor compliance experience preferred
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred
  • Certified in Supply Chain Management (CSCM) or LEAN/Six Sigma preferred
