The Analyst - Customer Insights is responsible for providing insight into customer-specific KPI trends, segment profiles and customer behaviors to all areas of the business including marketing, strategy and merchandising.  He/she will also be responsible for recommending marketing or business strategy based on these insights and for recommending the use of analytic tools to achieve optimal results.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Establish, track, and communicate key customer metrics such as shopping patterns, retention rates, contact frequency and the corresponding trends.
  • Escalate new customer trends to business partners; provide hypotheses/facts around what is causing them and recommendations on how to strategically use these new insights.
  • Provide ad-hoc customer analyses to address specific business questions from stakeholder groups: marketing, strategy, merchandising, and planning.
  • Establish and update profiles for key customer segments.
  • Analyze customer based results and behaviors within email, mobile, and direct mail marketing campaigns, providing conclusions and recommendations.
  • Recommend customer segmentation for marketing campaigns through using existing models and campaign results.
  • Perform customer segmentation or predictive modeling tasks if no analytic tool exists to achieve marketing results.
  • Help define the customer learning agenda and seasonal testing plan.
  • Work cooperatively with the IT organization to enhance customer data mart by providing data requirements that would enable more complete, efficient analysis.
  • Maintain functional expertise in database analytics best practices and the tools that support them.
  • Additional projects and responsibilities as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an analytical field (statistics, econometrics) or related area
  • 2-3+ years of overall related experience
  • 1-2+ years SQL experience
  • Ability to communicate findings using data visualization; experience with Tableau is preferred
  • 2+ years of experience performing data analysis with any of the following: Google Cloud Platform, Python, SAS, R
  • 2+ years customer-level data mining experience; preferably in a database marketing, multi-channel retail environment
  • 2+ years experience with statistical techniques such as K-means clustering, logistic regression and decision trees
  • Hands-on experience working in large, multi-brand, multi-channel databases
  • High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, & planning skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated collaborative skills and ability to work well within a team
  • Ability to work with and influence peers and senior management
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting
