Position Summary:

 

As an Analyst of Outbound Operations at AEO, Inc., you will be a key member of the Global Logistics team and provide daily insights that drive excellence in the annual movement of 246M+ units including 25M+ parcel shipments direct to customer. You will be responsible for continuously assessing and optimizing logistics processes, assets, services and people in order to meet AEO’s operational goals. Your efforts will contribute to the reliable and predictable delivery of freight into the distribution network and ensure speed, cost and service enhancements to our Company and customer. 

 

Your responsibilities include:

 

  • Executing the parcel transportation strategy; continuously optimizing the flow of goods to reduce costs and drive reliability of speed and efficiency in the network; supporting the implementation of new delivery strategies like same day, next day and 2 day delivery models that support overall company/departmental strategies
  • Reviewing daily performance reports from parcel providers to ensure on time performance;  facilitating communication across the Global Supply Chain teams and Store Operations to prepare/publish regular updates; following up and driving action items that improve cost, service and speed
  • Ensuring timely communication of transportation-related network/carrier capacity needs, disruptions and their impact to AEO’s business; ensuring services are in-line with contractual commitments, communicating perceived risks and working proactively to provide solutions that mitigate delays and sales risk
  • Supporting risk motivational plans for every market and every point of failure; flawlessly executing plans during times of distress – geopolitical, weather, union or seasonal changes in partnership with leadership
  • Collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data in order to draw trends and insights to assist in future planning and process improvements; assimilating findings and recommendations for presentation to leadership
  • Participating in the procurement process of parcel transportation providers including business opportunity analysis, requests-for-proposals, contract negotiations, and ongoing management of vendor relationship as needed
  • Developing, recommending and implementing new processes/enhancements to facilitate greater efficiencies within the department; creating continuous improvement initiatives for greater efficiency and cost savings
  • Additional responsibilities and projects as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain/Logistics or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • 0-3 years experience in supply chain operations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and operational planning skills; ability to identify trends within large data sets and make recommendations based on data analysis
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to explain logistical processes and problems to non-practitioners to arrive at workable solutions
  • Self-motivated and driven; ability to keep pace a fast and deadline-oriented industry/working environment
  • Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred
  • Certified in Supply Chain Management (CSCM) or LEAN/Six Sigma preferred
