POSITION SUMMARY:
Design and production of all digital pieces for American Eagle Outfitters and sub brands web sites, apps, social and outbound marketing. The Sr. Web Designer is responsible for designing and implementing marketing communications for the ecommerce business. With direction from the Creative Director, he/she will lead concept development for site updates, email and special projects ensuring a brand-right approach to aesthetic and appropriate levels of functionality, depending on the objective of the project. The Sr. Web Designer is also intimately aware of industry standards as they relate to fashion and visual trends to Information Architecture and usability.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead concept and campaign development with oversight of the Web Designer on all communications
  • Design and implementation of site updates, email and special projects
  • Partner closely with the copy lead to continuously challenge the work to be as compelling and actionable as possible – with the strategic objectives always in mind. Presenting creative concepts to ecommerce team at weekly meetings
  • Manage all phases of web production, including electronic creation and preparation of design files, responding to and adapting leadership feedback and ensuring client satisfaction and distribution
  • Connect and partner with Brand Marketing and Creative teams in design to leverage design assets, ensure cohesive brand communications and share ideas
  • Frequent interaction with operations team to ensure timely delivery of assets and projects to technical partner
  • Concept, design and present graphic solutions, and photographic solutions for interactive and marketing materials to Design Director
  • Present designs for weekly art review to AE Direct, Marketing, and Management teams
  • Review, manage and follow weekly production schedule- meeting all deadlines
  • Complete ownership for a portion of the production schedule as determined by the Director
  • Full accountability to ensure visual quality of all digital images, including color correction, with web producers
  • Spec and release art for production
  • Proof review and approval on all online materials
  • Research current design trends in fashion and marketing
  • Be conscious of the brand appearance and online presentation maintaining overall appearance, consistency and point of view
  • Manage one junior designer with daily tasks
  • All other duties as assigned

AUTHORITY
  • 1st level approval (final before Director presentation) on designs and image quality from web design team
  • 1st level approval (final before Director presentation) on color corrections and adjustments from vendors

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design or related field
  • 3+ years Professional Graphic Design/Web Design experience
  • On-line and/or catalog experience preferred
  • Color correction and production experience
  • Required skills: Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Fireworks, Macromedia Flash (action scripts), HTML, CSS, XML and strong experience with at least one Object-Oriented language.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Conceptual, creative thinker-who can strive and prioritize in a fast pace environment
  • Culturally aware, strong attention to detail and dedicated work ethic
  • Management of multiple designers/information/projects to deadline
