POSITION TITLE: Logistics Analyst – EU

REPORTS TO: Global Logistics Manager - EU

POSITION SUMMARY:

·         Be a leadership role model by acting with integrity and respect, approaching responsibility with confidence and ownership, and inspiring superior performance in our 3rd party vendors and within the AEO supply chain

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Provide customer service support to internal and external customers as it relates to the routing, tracking, and service performance for all logistics activities

·         Serve as the primary logistics contact for Store Operations and AE Direct Operations related business needs (e.g. service issues, reporting, data analysis, etc.)

·         Help facilitate and maintain the strategic linkage of the European Regional team and AEO business partners in Transportation, DC Operations, Finance, Digital, Customer Service, Inventory, and IT, to the 3rd party and responsible for assisting with strategic execution as it relates to the movement of goods from origin to receipt in Europe’s stores and direct customers

·         Monitor key performance indicators to ensure vendor(s) performance; assist with processes or training that will increase performance against stated key metrics; including the leveraging of AEO resources as necessary.  Lead the vendors to meet AEO’s expectations, service levels and deadlines

·         Evaluate vendor performance and make recommendations to AEO leadership; research alternative partners in the area if needed

·         Resolve daily shipping issues, working with external and internal business partners.

·         Partner with Customs Compliance Manager to resolve documentation issues related to the clearance of merchandise into and out of the EU.

·         Review commercial documents for value declaration accuracy, harmonized codes, country of origin

·         Monitor movement of merchandise from receipt at consolidator/forwarder through to customs release process at destination working with the AE International Team and external providers

·         Track and trace movement of customs documents from vendor/agent through to destination working with the internal and external business partners

·         Review and respond to requests for information and/or verification of commercial documents not limited to but including value declaration accuracy, harmonized codes and country of origin

·         Identify freight savings opportunities, implement process changes, measure and report results

·         Understand and enhance the productivity and service levels as it relates to the flow of AEO goods

·         Stay connected to the merchandising/receipts calendar and ensure shipping deadlines are met

·         Ensure vendors are operating in compliance with all known applicable laws

·         Maintain a working knowledge of the technology/systems that support the 3rd party vendors, provide properly structured feedback to IT and Systems regarding ongoing issues and needed improvements

·         Assist Global Logistics Manager as needed

·         Other projects and responsibilities as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS:

•      Knowledge of customs functions preferred

•      High degree of proficiency MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications

•      Strong analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion) and planning skills

•      Strong verbal and written communication skills

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

•      Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field required

•      2+ years of related experience preferred
